J Bird Smoked Meats

We started by ordering take out from this establishment. WOW. The food was SO good. Melt in your mouth brisket. I'm drooling just thinking about it. So, we came back with my father for their special Octoberfest meal. You know, German food. It was great. My father was happy. He loved it. I loved it. My wife devoured her salad. That's when you KNOW it's good. The service was very friendly and competent if not a little on he slow side. They may have been short staffed which is a problem all over. Parking sucks. Accentuated by a rude customer who took up half of the one handicapped space (required by my 91-year-old father) with his giant (small d**k energy) Jeep Wrangler (he was inside waiting for his order). Not the fault of the establishment. But parking is not ideal. Not much you can do with that slot of land. Otherwise, this place is fantastic. We will be back again and again. If not in person (see parking) for takeout!

We came here late night when I was craving nachos. They were SO good! We also got some fries and Mac and cheese. The fries have a really great seasoning on them and the Mac and cheese was pretty solid. I also got a side salad and the dressing was surprisingly my favorite part. All of their sauces are d super delicious, not sure if they’re for sale but I’d love to buy them. Will definitely be back soon!

Great atmosphere, friendly and knowledgeable staff, mouth watering food. We tried the fried chicken, smoked Turkey and beef brisket, all were absolutely delicious! The macaroni, sweet and spicy fries, as well as baked beans were very savory. I wasn’t a big fan of the coleslaw, it was slightly bland. The sauces were delicious, there’s something for every different taste bud, from seeet sauces to spicy. They sell Faygo Floats there which I would definitely recommend! I couldn’t get enough of the drink called Breaking the Ice, that bartender has magic fingers. You can dine in or outside, we were seated immediately which was very nice!

I regularly get carryout, but occasionally dine in and it's a wonderful place. A local gem. Chef Jeremy is phenomenal at his craft. This restaurant is a BBQ joint, but he's done it all and it's evident in the texture and flavors. This is no average BBQ spot. I was compelled to leave a review after having the pig apple pie sandwich with sweet potato fries. It was perfect and I don't say this lightly. The bark. the balance. The texture of the pulled pork was next level. It's below freezing in January. The schools are closed. The last thing I want to do is fire up my kamado joe for a 12 hr cook, and I am fortunate to not have to to eat just as good (maybe better😬) Forget all the other prep work... to eat a perfect sandwich. I know I am fortunate to have J bird minutes from my house. Chef pours his heart and soul into cooking and made it my cold January night. The food is consistent and a great value for the effort put forth. This place is criminally slept on in the discussion of best BBQ. There is different, but not better. Thanks Jeremy and staff!

I was hired by Doordash to photograph some of Jeremy's dishes. As you can see, they are in to-go containers. They usually present their dishes on cafeteria trays. I am a fan of this restaurant as well as his former restaurant, Jeremy's. He is very talented and the SMOKED meats are perfect all the time! Be careful with the Nashville Hot Chicken! It is a little too spicy for my taste but all the other dishes are sooo good. Please try all of their sauces. I am sure you will ultimately find your favorite. Great outdoor seating too. You will not be disappointed with their dishes!
